Zmiany w sektorze obronnym w latach 2007-2012 – uwarunkowania i perspektywy

In Poland there is discussing whether to privatize or consolidate the military sector. Exports keep growing, offset contracts are very profitable. No wonder that foreign subcontractors and offset companies are getting interested in Polish firms. The government's strategy for the defense sector provides for consolidation within the Bumar Group, and launching privatization processes to make our defense industry competitive in the struggle for international contracts. The strategy provides for further consolidation however part of government and the industry representatives believe a parallel privatization is possible. Minority stakes could be sold to investors. This solution would let the companies raise funds for new technologies while the state would still control them.

Konkurencyjność polskiego mleczarstwa a wyposażenie gospodarstw w nowoczesny sprzęt techniczny

The article contains an overview of the analysis concerning the amounts and value of the forming machinery in the farmstead specializing in milk production. Better production results failed due to unfavourable farm size and herd composition during the transition. Recent technology developments and evolving technology now on the horizon will create new uses for milk, and new dairy ingredients and products. New manufacturing processes will create opportunities for further growth of the dairy industry. Technological advances in the future may transform milk plants into milk "refineries" that can fractionate milk components into all kinds of desired dairy ingredients.

Koncentracja produkcji mleka a wskaźniki skupu mleka w Polsce

Current milk market regulations, in particular interventions, export subsidies, and quantity limitations (milk quota), have only slowed down, but not prevented negative developments such as the increasing concentration and intensification of dairy cow management, and the shift of milk production from areas with poor soils and grassland to areas with profitable field cultivation and grassland management. Dairy cows are the economic basis in many agricultural systems - in particular those based on grassland management - and constitute an important source of income for many agricultural holdings. The main goal of milk market policies should be to integrate measures that create income stability with improvements in environmental and animal rights protection. In the short term, we thus suggest an active income policy based on milk quotas, and additional, or parallel, strategic instruments. Beyond these measures, we deem it necessary to conduct an evaluation of the economic and ecological consequences of the current milk quota system in the year 2007.

The issue of European solidarity is – the new member states see solidarity as aid from the older member states for leveling out the economic situation throughout the EU. The older member states however see solidarity in the light of protecting their standard of living, coordinating foreign policy and unifying rules governing business activities. The energy sector reforms performed in countries such as Germany, Great Britain or Norway have been the proof documenting that the most efficient method stimulating the improvement of the efficiency is the creation of the competence mechanisms. The reduction of the electrical energy prices for end-users, as well as the growth of electrical energy turnover and the reduction of the electrical energy generation costs have been the results of the reforms in question. This is due to the fact that the Act in question is in conformity to the guidelines of the EU directives and contains the main principles of power industry sector economic activities, the market deregulation as well as the separation of the electrical energy turnover area from its transmission and distribution. This paper presents the characteristics of the national power system, the course of the power industry reforms, as well as the conclusive model of the electrical energy market in Poland.

An overview of deal trends on a historical basis and the progress of individual deals as they happen is the subject of this article. Ongoing market developments, particularly in terms of liberalization, have resulted in continued energy sector M&A. Insight into recent M&A activity in the energy and utilities sector throughout the world. Detailed understanding of the market context behind factors driving both the sector as whole and individual deals. M&A activity in the current buoyant market leaves utilities looking for both partners and targets. As companies continue to employ various permutations of the attack/defend strategy in response to market liberalization, the scope for continued M&A activity on both a large and a small scale is positive.
